Printing Your Masterpiece

So you have just finished that Field's-Medal-winning work and are ready to type it up (practically) mistake-free. Now you want to see it printed out on paper. This is done with the laser command. Assuming that you have a mistake-free version of mythesis.tex and have used latex to create mythesis.dvi, typing

laser mythesis

will print mythesis on a laser printer (probably lw2, the HP laserwriter in the fifth floor lounge area). Note that the laser command does accept preferences. For example, if you wanted to print the first five pages of your document on the fourth floor public printer, you could type

laser -Plw8 -page1-5 mythesis

When you have printed a clean final draft, photocopy it for more copies. Do not laser-print it again.
